I think the hardest part of planning a child’s birthday party is figuring out a theme for them. Isabella’s was turning 3 and trying to figure out what she liked and then thinking if that “thing” is good enough to throw a party around it is pretty hard to do, in my opinion. I was heading to Paper Source one day to pick out cards and envelopes for baby shower invitations I was designing for a friend. With Bella in tow, we walked around to see what colors I could use for the invites. Bella wandered off toward the purple cards and envelopes and picked them off the shelf and gave them to me. I asked her what they were for and she said her birthday. I was like: BINGO! Why don’t we use purple as the theme for her 3rd birthday party. (I added fushcia to the mix so that the purple won’t be too overwhelming.) So to start the party off, I bought the purple invitations and flat cards and designed her invitations around that. Sometimes ideas just fall on your lap, in this case, the idea came from the birthday girl herself.
